Simple September

Oh how happy I was a momma bird found her home on the front porch.
Little did she know she was on stage for us to watch her journey becoming a mom.

From the building of her nest to laying her eggs and mothering with tenderness through crazy north Texas storms.

Each day I watched with excitement to see her little eggs and their hatching.
(Only one egg hatched :(

As the baby grew and waited patiently for mom daily to bring its daily nutrition.
I often wondered if the bird feared heights?
Did he ever look down and think, "Woh! How did I get here?"

I watched daily at how the mom kept the baby between her and the wall.
Comfort, care, protection..
I prefer sitting on the inside rather than the outside--booths, theaters, rows...

Then flying lessons day came!
Mom did THE switch.
She scooted the baby to the outside.
on the other side of her..
On the other side of the nest..
on the other side of comfort..eek!
I was nervous for the little guy as he spread his wings with grace and flapped them with vigor..

Then, he was gone..and so was mom..

They both still come around and visit.
Their nesting home still remains in case they need a little rest stop..

Matthew 6:
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

God is greater than our need.
God is enough!
